Job overview
Brightfield Lending Group is recruiting an entry-level, fully remote Pricing Analyst to support how the company researches, sets, and reviews prices. You will gather competitor pricing, keep pricing databases accurate, measure margin and profitability, and turn your findings into clear recommendations for leadership. The role suits analytically minded people who like working with numbers and want a practical start in pricing, revenue operations, or finance. Paid training is provided, so prior pricing, analyst, or finance experience is not required.
This is a pricing-focused role. A Financial Analyst typically covers a broader range of finance work such as budgeting and forecasting, and a Data Analyst typically works across many kinds of business data. A Pricing Analyst concentrates on three questions: what do we charge, what does it earn us, and how does that compare with the market?
New to pricing or finance? You can still apply
No prior pricing, analyst, or finance experience is required. The main prerequisites are strong analytical thinking, comfort with numbers, and solid spreadsheet skills. Training covers pricing models, spreadsheets, and competitor analysis. You do not need a certification or coding skills to start, and a bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Schedule
This is a full-time role, typically about 40 hours per week during standard business hours. Workload can peak around quarterly pricing reviews and monthly reporting deadlines. Exact hours and expectations are discussed during the interview.
What you’ll do
- Conduct competitor pricing research across products and services and record it in a consistent, verifiable format.
- Build and maintain pricing databases and spreadsheets that other teams can rely on.
- Analyze margin and profitability by product or customer segment.
- Prepare pricing recommendations for leadership, explaining the reasoning and the limits of the data.
- Support monthly and quarterly price reviews.
- Track price changes and their impact on sales.
- Prepare pricing reports and dashboards.
- Coordinate with sales, finance, and product teams to gather inputs and confirm details.
- Support promotional pricing scenarios by comparing the likely effect of different discount levels.
- Track discount patterns and approval workflows.
- Help maintain pricing policies and documentation.
- Support customer-specific pricing contracts.
- Monitor currency or regional pricing differences where relevant.
A typical pricing review cycle
Exact steps vary by team, but the work often follows a repeatable cycle:
For example, you might gather competitor prices ahead of a quarterly review, check them against your internal price list, and use a pivot table to see which segments have the weakest margins. You then summarize the findings, discuss them with sales and finance, and later track how any approved price change affected sales.
Tools you’ll use
Most of your day will be in Excel or Google Sheets, using functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic modeling. You will also build or update reports and dashboards, and Looker Studio or Tableau may be used depending on the team. You are not expected to write code, and you will not need SQL to begin; tool details should be confirmed during the interview.
Required qualifications
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; no certification required.
- Comfort with Excel or Google Sheets, including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic modeling.
- Strong written English for reports and recommendations.
- Attention to detail for numbers and pricing accuracy.
- Comfort with BI tools such as Looker Studio or Tableau, or willingness to learn.
- Ability to work with multiple teams, including sales, finance, and product.
- Reliability with monthly reporting deadlines.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
Preferred qualifications
- Prior analyst, finance, or operations experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, statistics, or a related field (not required).
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Looker Studio, or Power BI.
- Basic understanding of SaaS or subscription pricing.
- Spanish/English bilingual ability.
- Interest in finance, economics, or business strategy.
