Northwest Health Information Services is expanding its Health Information Management team and is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Auditor to evaluate telehealth documentation for completeness, coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement opportunities. This fully remote role supports hospitals, physician groups, and virtual healthcare organizations by ensuring medical records accurately reflect patient care while meeting federal and state documentation requirements.

The Medical Records Auditor collaborates with clinical documentation specialists, coding professionals, compliance teams, providers, and quality leaders to strengthen documentation integrity and reduce organizational risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Audit telehealth medical records for completeness and accuracy
• Review documentation against CMS, HIPAA, and organizational standards
• Identify documentation deficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Collaborate with coding and CDI teams
• Prepare audit findings and compliance reports
• Monitor documentation quality indicators
• Support internal and external audit readiness
• Provide provider documentation education
• Maintain audit documentation and tracking logs
• Recommend workflow improvements

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent credential preferred
• Experience auditing medical records or clinical documentation
• Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and healthcare regulations
• Strong analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
