Badger State Health Documentation Services is seeking an experienced Remote Hospital Medical Coder to support accurate clinical coding for hospital healthcare services. This work-from-home healthcare position reviews medical documentation and assigns appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes while maintaining compliance with coding standards.

The Medical Coder works closely with healthcare documentation teams, coding auditors, and hospital departments to ensure complete and accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

• Review hospital medical records and clinical documentation
• Assign ICD-10-CM and procedure codes accurately
• Analyze physician documentation for coding requirements
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards
• Research coding guidelines and regulatory updates
• Communicate documentation questions appropriately
• Support coding audits and quality reviews
• Protect confidential patient health information

Qualifications

• Medical coding certification preferred
• Hospital coding experience preferred
• Knowledge of ICD-10 coding systems
